In essence, everything remains as is, and as it has been included into the WMO Manual for the Global Data Processing and Forecasting System [The full text can be seen in report WMO-No. 1017, Commission for Basic System, Extraordinary Session, Seoul, Republic of Korea, 9-16 Nov. 2006, Abridged final report with resolutions and recommendations (http://www.wmo.ch/pages/governance/tc/documents/1017_E.pdf)]. We have created a web interface where you can - see a description of communication and procedures - see the latest contact details from all participating Centres - Manually upload data during the response test and the experiment - View all requests for support posted by us so far - View and download all results provided by the participants so far (see http://fts.ctbto.org/atm/) Regarding password protected items on our web interface, please note: - Regarding the download part, the login details are as follows: User: PW: - Regarding data upload, the login details are as follows: User: PW: These passwd did not change throughout the experiments. If you forgott them please sent an Email with your affiliation to services@ctbto.org There are two items we would like to communicate to you, and which have not been detailed so far: (A) Model results: As usual, you are requested to submit your results as gnu-zipped (or Unix-compressed) ASCII file with latitude/longitude/time step/value. Please note that latitude/longitude in this file refer to the lower left corner of the reported model grid cell, and not to its centre!!! Sometimes, this has been erroneously communicated by us... (B) Points of Contact All WMO Centres are requested to specify an operational Point of Contact (PoC) with an e-mail address. This PoC can be a human or a computer program, who - Sends back to us the reply e-mail - Starts the requested computations - Uploads the results to our server (ftp) Furthermore, we would also ask you to specify a contact person (CP) with e-mail, Telephone and Fax. Ideally, this would be a 24x7 shift operator. All standardized notifications/request for support e-mails would be sent simultaneously to the PoCs and CPs. All further correspondence related to the response and the data would be sent only to the CPs. Any non-real-time/non-exercise correspondence would be sent to the managers, as usual. Please find below all important dates as coordinated with WMO Secretariat and WMO NERA-COG: (1) By Thursday November 1, please inform us whether your Centre intends to participate in the exercise (2) On Wednesday November 7 CTBTO will perform a communication test. An e-mail message will be sent to your Contact Person (CP), and we would just expect an answer that the message has been received. No further action. (3) On Monday December 3 CTBTO will perform a response test. We will send out a request for support to the specified PoCs and CPs, and will expect your backtracking results within 24 h. (4) The first request for support for the full exercise will be issued on 10 December 2007 For all who have not yet confirmed their participation, we are looking forward to receive a response by next week (Thursday November 1st, 2007).
